Culture at TAL Australia

9.3
9.3 rating for Culture, based on 17 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
The structure within disciplines evolves when needed so the company is not stagnant, and the hierarchy is quite flat in which you feel like you can speak with any person no matter their authority. People at this company are very supportive and are always willing to help answer your questions. People are pleasant to socialise with and take feedback on-board quite well. After hours, there are not many opportunities for socialisation as everyone just wants to go back home (this changed drastically after covid). Socialisation is limited to your team's or colleague's choice to go out for lunch or after work 'drinks'.

In office, the culture is very supportive and positive. The office floor plans are conducive to collaboration and put the highest executives on the same level as junior analysts. People from other teams will always go out of their way to assist with any issues, and equally are happy to just chat.

Flexible working hours and supportive team mindset, if colleagues worked after hours for something major they can start or leave the next day earlier.

There is a fairly flat structure, everyone is very approachable and willing to give up their time to help. Work almost always involves collaboration across multiple teams. There are frequent social events run by the social club, as well as team drinks and dinners.

The culture at TAL is great. The hierarchy is almost unnoticeable as everyone sits on the same desks, there aren't special privileges for people higher up which leads to a transparent and open environment. Outside of work there are many opportunities to network and meet other TAL employees with events from TAL or the Social Club at TAL.

fairly laid-back culture, unless work needs to be done. Crunch time isn't non-existent. Although everyone is able to help one another to get through certain deadlines.

Great culture within the office. There is an expectation to complete your work and no huge push to continue working after hours. After hour work is only performed when necessary. There is a flat structure and there is no "boss in the office". Teams are very helpful and always willing to lend a hand. The office is very sociable and people are very friendly.

Structure can be a bit complex, and whilst a hierarchy exists, it is not too overbearing. Socialising is fluid and there are plenty of opportunities to get to know your colleagues.

Pretty flat hierarchy which gives us a chance to build relationships with higher executives. And through the graduate program it enables us to meet the excite team quite often.

As a Graduate we receive a lot of support, not only from our leaders, but also the direct teams around us. My graduate cohort is a team of 19 across all 7 disciplines. We all support each other, and help each other with ideas if its ever needed!
